Lowrance Elite 5


The Elite 5 has the capabilities of a powerful fishfinder. Also included are precision GPS chartplotting features with a high quality 5 inch color display screen. Most of the Elite series, including the Elite 5 are known for high quality at a well-priced value. They are also known for their scroll-back capabilities so you can view what you have just cruised over.

This is a basic package with easy to use menus. It has an advanced mode making it easy to add any extra features desired. It has a new mounting design allowing for one hand tilt or swivel viewing. It fits into previous designed 5 inch models space for easy installation. The new plugins are compatible with previously installed Lowrance models of the same size.

It has an internal 16 channel GPS antenna. This provides great WAAS, EGNOS, and MSAS precision for navigation. An external antenna is also available. A waterproof memory card is compatible with the Navaronics Gold chartcards. Built in memory provides up to 3000 waypoints.

The 500 RMS sounder reaches depths of 1000 feet. It has a dual frequency transducer with an internal temperature senor. It has 120 degrees of sonar coverage. The unique Trackback feature offers immediate scroll back. You can review multiply pages of fishfinder history.

Adjustable screen and keypad backlighting improves visibility and usability both during the day and night. The display has unmatched screen contrast, brightness and resolution. You can view details at a wider angle in bright sunlight.

The actual screen is 3.5 inches high and 3.5 inches wide that measures 5 inches diagonally. There are times when so much data is displayed on the screen, that it is necessary to view it closely to see the details. The screen is very easy to read in bright sunlight even without polarized glasses.

It has both day and night color palettes for easier viewing. Daylight brightness can be set to one of eleven levels. It is easy to operate by using one of six front panel push buttons and a keypad.

Routes are created from a route screen. You simply follow on screen prompts to add points to the way point list. Or you can build your own route by adding points to the chart view. This is done simply by moving the cursor and pressing the Enter key for each point. Routes can be run forward or in reverse. They are listed on their own page separately. The Elite 5 can store up to 100 routes.

The fishfinder standard features include auto and manual depth ranging, zoom, and bottom lock. It also displays water temperature. Hitting the menu button from the sonar page let's you select a split screen, color palette and A-scope.
